What do you do when something is so unspeakably decadent that it gives you a big dopamine (or sugar) rush? Right, you go ahead and make it even better. Get your corn poppin' cause this is something you're not gonna wanna miss!
This, my friends, is Kate's Popcorn. I had seen it at the store and market several times and I finally got it. Needless to say, I was excited (just a bit...). I'm amazed I managed to take a few pictures before I wolfed them all down.
To be honest with you, they aren't much more than a lot of sugar with a bit of popcorn and vanilla taste. Awesome, right?
The guilt trip afterwards wasn't so funny. The only bright spot was that there weren't any more to eat. Which, obviously, I would have. So addictive. But not nearly as good as what's coming your way nowww:
My very own take on the white chocolate vanilla popcorn.
All you need is:
- 200g of white chocolate
- 100g of popcorn
- a vanilla bean
Let your chocolate chunks melt while you pop the corn.
Scrape out the vanilla bean and take the seeds.
Add the vanilla to the molten white chocolate.
... and pour it all over the popcorn.
Stir well, grab a handful, start eating... wait, no! You have to wait now. Oh horror, I know.
Spread them on a lined baking sheet, pick out the imperfect ones (everyone knows they can be eaten without guilt, plus they're the most exciting ones anyway) and let the chocolate harden. The vanilla comes out very nicely (as my dad put it). You could make these without the real vanilla, but it definitely adds to the awesomeness.
Look at these bad boys, even better than their predecessors.
Wrapped nicely, they make a great gift. Make these or go crazy with what you've got in your cupboards and make your own popcorn creation! And, most importantly, save a few to have fun with...
