The children here are so lovely.
But first, this is the view from the volunteer house:
It's whale season, so I should be able to see some whales swimming around in the bay very soon! The others already saw whales AND dolphins, I'm so jealous.
It was the first time I went to the Grootbos Private Nature Reserve, and it is beautiful. This is the Garden Lodge, one of the two lodges (hotels) on the reserve.
As usual, we took the car out to the field where the coaching takes place.
Then we went to pickup the kids at their school, which is actually really nice, especially on the inside!
When the kids saw us, they came running to us. They knew the other volunteers, but I was there for the first time. Surprisingly, they jumped onto me with as much love as onto the other volunteers. It was so strange and wonderful for me, because it made me realize that the kids really need attention and appreciate us coming to play with them.
Also, they are quite the posers. They were amazed by my camera and all wanted to be in the pictures or take pictures. Obviously, they are not really used to cell phones or cameras.
We played games with them for one hour, then they had to go back to school. Training is at 3:30PM everyday. We haven't really been able to train during the last few days, though, because the weather is unpredictable and can turn from sunshine to hail within seconds.
And it is windy! So windy!
Unfortunately, it's exam period, so the school programme will not be taking place until July. Until then, I have the stables and coaching to keep me occupied!
